What Makes This Different

Most SEO tools show you problems. Site Intelligence shows you problems AND creates content briefs to fix them — one click from "your page has thin content" to "here's a brief to expand it." The analysis-to-action loop is instant.

Finding Site Intelligence

Navigate to Site Intelligence in the left sidebar under the Measure section. Available on Starter, Professional, and Enterprise plans.

Coverage

Site Intelligence runs 165 checks across 7 scoring categories, achieving 99.1% parity with the Ahrefs Site Audit checklist. Categories are weighted to produce an overall health score:

  • Crawlability & Indexation (15%) — Can search engines find and index your pages?
  • Technical Foundations (20%) — Is the site fast, secure, and functional?
  • On-Page Optimization (20%) — Is content properly optimized for target keywords?
  • Content Quality (15%) — Does the content deserve to rank?
  • Internal Linking (10%) — Is the site well-connected internally?
  • Backlink Health (20%) — Does the site have external authority?
  • Schema — Structured data coverage (scored separately)

Analysis Tools

SEO Site Audit

Purpose: Comprehensive health check of your entire website.

How to use it:

  1. Click New Audit on the dashboard
  2. Enter your website URL
  3. Optionally adjust max pages (up to 100)
  4. Click Start Scan and wait for results

What You'll See:

  • Overall Health Score (0-100) — Weighted average across 6 categories (7 tabs including Schema)
  • Category Score Cards — Click any category card to drill into its specific issues
  • Prioritized Recommendations — Sorted by severity (critical, warning, info)
  • Schema Coverage — Which pages have structured data and which need it
  • Backlink Health — Domain rank, referring domains, broken backlinks (see below)
  • Accessibility Scores — WCAG compliance per page (see below)
  • AI Bot Blocking — Which AI crawlers your robots.txt blocks (see below)
  • Competitor Comparison — Side-by-side scores against competitor domains (see below)

Tips:

  • Critical recommendations include a "Create Brief" button that pre-fills a content brief with the keyword to fix the issue
  • Use fix verification to re-check individual issues after applying fixes (see below)
  • Set up recurring audits to track improvement automatically over time
  • Start with a smaller max pages count for faster initial scans

Schema Markup Analyzer

Purpose: Identifies missing structured data and generates ready-to-use JSON-LD.

The schema analysis runs automatically as part of every SEO audit. For each crawled page, it:

  • Extracts existing JSON-LD structured data
  • Infers the page type (blog post, product, category, contact, etc.)
  • Identifies which recommended schema types are missing
  • Generates copy-paste JSON-LD for missing types

Supported schema types: BlogPosting, BreadcrumbList, WebSite, Organization, Product, LocalBusiness, ContactPage, AboutPage, WebPage, CollectionPage.

Page CRO Analyzer

Purpose: Score any page's conversion effectiveness using AI vision analysis.

How to use it:

  1. Click Analyze Page on the dashboard
  2. Enter the URL of any page you want to analyze
  3. Wait for the AI to screenshot and analyze the page

What You'll See:

  • Overall Score (1-10) — Composite conversion readiness score
  • 6 Dimension Scores — Value proposition, headline, CTA, visual hierarchy, trust signals, mobile-friendliness
  • Per-dimension notes — Specific observations and recommendations

Tips:

  • Use this for landing pages, homepage, and key conversion pages
  • Compare scores before and after page redesigns
  • CRO analysis works on any public URL, not just your own site

Backlink Health Tab

The Backlink Health tab appears as a dedicated score card on the audit detail page. It pulls external link data to assess your site's off-page authority.

What You'll See:

  • Backlink Health Score (0-100) — Overall backlink quality rating
  • Domain Rank (DR) — Your site's authority score based on backlink profile
  • Referring Domains — How many unique domains link to your site
  • Total Backlinks — Full count of inbound links
  • Broken Backlinks — Links pointing to pages that return errors (highlighted in red)
  • Top Link Sources — Your most valuable referring domains

Tips:

  • Broken backlinks represent lost authority — prioritize fixing or redirecting those URLs
  • A small number of high-DR referring domains is more valuable than many low-quality links
  • If backlink data is unavailable (e.g., for new domains), the score is excluded and the remaining categories are reweighted automatically

Accessibility (WCAG) Checks

Each audited page receives an accessibility score based on Lighthouse WCAG audits. These checks run automatically during the scan.

Checks performed:

  • Color contrast — Text meets minimum contrast ratios against its background
  • Heading order — Headings follow a logical hierarchy (h1, h2, h3, etc.)
  • Link names — Links have descriptive, accessible text (not "click here")
  • Button names — Buttons have accessible labels for screen readers

Accessibility scores appear per-page in the Technical category drilldown. Pages with low accessibility scores are flagged as warnings.

AI Bot Blocking Detection

Site Intelligence checks your robots.txt for rules that block AI crawlers. The following bots are checked:

  • GPTBot (OpenAI)
  • ClaudeBot (Anthropic)
  • CCBot (Common Crawl)
  • Google-Extended (Google AI)
  • Bytespider (ByteDance)
  • PerplexityBot (Perplexity AI)

The audit reports which bots can and cannot crawl your site. Blocking AI bots prevents your content from appearing in AI-generated answers and search results, which may reduce your visibility as AI-powered search grows.

Competitor Comparison

When you run an audit, Site Intelligence can also run a mini-audit on up to 2 competitor domains. Competitor domains are pulled from your tenant settings.

What You'll See:

  • Side-by-side category score comparison on the Overview tab
  • Each competitor's overall health score and pages audited
  • Per-category breakdown so you can see where you lead and where you trail

This gives you a concrete benchmark — not just "is my site healthy?" but "is my site healthier than the competition?"

Fix Verification

After applying a fix for an issue found in your audit, you can re-check that specific issue without running a full scan.

How to use it:

  1. Find the issue in any category tab
  2. Click the Re-check button on that issue
  3. Wait for the verification to complete (typically a few seconds)

The system re-crawls the affected page and re-evaluates the specific check. Resolved issues are tracked separately from new issues, so you can see your progress over time.

Scheduled Audits

Set up automatic recurring scans so your site is audited on a regular cadence without manual intervention.

How to use it:

  1. After running an audit, enable the recurring schedule option
  2. Site Intelligence will automatically re-scan at the configured interval

Scheduled scans count against your monthly quota. If your quota is exhausted, scheduled scans are skipped until the next billing cycle.

Quota

Site Intelligence scans and CRO analyses share the same monthly quota:

  • Starter: 1 per month
  • Professional: 5 per month
  • Enterprise: 20 per month

Scheduled/recurring scans also count against this quota.

Common Questions

"How long does an SEO audit take?" Typically 2-10 minutes depending on the number of pages crawled. You can navigate away and come back — the page auto-refreshes when complete.

"Can I audit competitors' websites?" Yes. Enter any public URL. Additionally, if you have competitor domains configured in your tenant settings, the audit automatically runs a mini-audit on up to 2 competitors and shows a side-by-side score comparison on the Overview tab.

"Do CRO analyses count against my scan quota?" Yes, scans and CRO analyses share the same quota pool.

"Do I need to re-run a full audit after fixing an issue?" No. Use the Re-check button on any individual issue to verify your fix without consuming a scan from your quota.

"What is the Backlink Health tab?" It shows your site's off-page authority — domain rank, referring domains, broken backlinks, and top link sources. It appears as a dedicated tab on the audit detail page with its own score card.

"Should I block AI bots in robots.txt?" It depends on your strategy. Blocking AI bots prevents your content from being used in AI-generated search answers. The audit flags which bots are blocked so you can make an informed decision.

"Is Site Intelligence available on the Starter plan?" Yes. Starter plans include 1 scan per month. Professional includes 5, and Enterprise includes 20.
