Designed Video: A Short Video From a Page or a Topic

Designed Video turns one page on your website, or a topic your products cover, into a short vertical video, ready for Reels, TikTok, Shorts and Stories. You give it a page or a topic and, if you like, a goal. Maya plans the scenes, builds them from your own wording and images, and checks every frame before the final video renders.

What You Need First

  • Your website address in Brand settings. The video can only use pages on your own site.
  • Your Primary Brand Color, saved in Brand settings under Visual Identity. The video is built in your colors, so it won't start until one is saved. The color swatch shows a placeholder until you choose one, so pick your color and click save.

How to Make One

  1. Go to Video Production → New video and choose Designed, or open the Designed Video card in Creative Studio.
  2. Choose what to build it from:
  • A page on my site: paste the address of a product page, a feature page or a landing page.
  • A topic: type a product or collection, for example "linen kaftans". Maya finds your own product and collection pages about it. This needs your store connected in Integrations.
  1. Optionally, describe what the video should do, for example "Get people to try the design studio".
  2. Click Design my video.

You can also ask Maya: "make a video about our linen kaftans" or "make a video from this page". She starts it the same way and links you to it. If you've used your month's videos, she'll send you to the Designed Video page to approve an extra one. It takes a few minutes. You can leave the page and come back.

When it's done you land on the video's page, where you can watch it, download it and publish it.

What Goes Into the Video

  • Only your own words. Every line in the video is quoted from your own site: the page you gave, or your product and collection pages for a topic. The video page shows where each line came from.
  • Only your own images, taken from those pages.
  • No sound. The video comes without music or voiceover, so you can add a trending track or your own audio in Instagram, TikTok or YouTube when you post.
  • A short recording of your site when it helps (page videos only), for example tapping through a product or a configurator. If the recording isn't possible, the video is made from your page's text and images instead, and the video page says so.
  • A few generated motion shots for some photos, such as fabric moving in the breeze.

Reviewing the Result

Before rendering, Maya checks every scene for text that's cut off, hard to read or overlapping. Anything it could not fix shows on the video page under "Before you post", so you know exactly what to look at.

For generated motion shots, the video page may ask you to confirm a shot. You can:

  • Keep a shot as it is.
  • Swap it for the original photo.
  • Retry a shot that couldn't be made.

Swapping or retrying re-renders the video. It doesn't use another video from your plan.

A video counts only when it finishes. On a paid plan, once you've used your month's videos you'll be asked to approve an extra one before it starts. One designed video can be in progress per brand at a time.

Tips

  • Pick a page with real substance. A product page with a clear description and good photos makes a better video than a thin page.
  • Use the goal to steer the ending. "Get people to book a call" and "Show the new collection" lead to different final scenes.
  • If the page is too short, the video stops partway with a message saying so, and nothing is counted. Try a page with more text.
  • For a topic, name something you sell. A product or collection name works best. If nothing on your site matches, you'll be told before anything starts.
  • Cart, checkout and account pages can't be used. Pick the product or collection page instead.
