What Renewal Reminders Include

Each reminder email contains:

  • Charge amount - The exact amount that will be billed
  • Charge date - When the payment will process
  • Plan name - Your current subscription tier (Starter, Professional, or Scale)
  • Billing cycle - Whether you're on monthly or annual billing
  • Payment method - Last 4 digits of your card on file

When Reminders Are Sent

Renewal reminders go out 3 days before your scheduled charge date. This gives you enough time to:

  • Update your payment method if your card has changed
  • Cancel if you no longer need the service
  • Upgrade or downgrade your plan
  • Contact support with billing questions

Updating Your Payment Method

To update your card before renewal:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Update Payment Method
  3. Enter your new card details
  4. Click Save

Your new card will be charged on the renewal date. The old card is removed immediately.

Canceling Before Renewal

To cancel and avoid the upcoming charge:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Confirm cancellation

Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to ensure the charge doesn't process. After cancellation:

  • You keep access until your current billing period ends
  • No future charges will occur
  • Your data is retained for 30 days if you decide to resubscribe

Changing Plans Before Renewal

You can switch plans at any time before renewal:

To upgrade:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select your new tier
  4. Confirm the change

Upgrades take effect immediately. You're charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing cycle.

To downgrade:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Change Plan
  3. Select the lower tier
  4. Confirm the change

Downgrades take effect at your next renewal date. You keep your current tier's features until then.

Annual vs Monthly Renewals

Monthly billing:

  • Reminders sent 3 days before each monthly charge
  • You receive 12 reminders per year
  • Charges occur on the same date each month

Annual billing:

  • Reminders sent 3 days before your annual charge
  • You receive 1 reminder per year
  • Single charge covers the full year

Annual plans include a discount compared to monthly billing. The reminder email shows the full annual amount.

Configuring Reminder Preferences

To adjust your renewal reminder settings:

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications
  2. Find Billing Notifications
  3. Toggle options:
  • Email reminders - On/off for renewal emails
  • Additional reminder - Get a second reminder 7 days before (optional)

You cannot disable the 3-day reminder entirely for security reasons. This ensures you're always notified before charges.

Didn't Receive a Reminder?

If you expected a reminder but didn't get one:

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Verify your email address in Settings > Profile
  3. Add notifications@illixis.io to your contacts
  4. Contact support if reminders are still missing

Reminders are sent to the email address associated with your account owner profile, not team member emails.
