What Data ILLIXIS Stores

ILLIXIS stores several categories of data to power your marketing program:

Account Data

• Email address, name, company information
• Billing details (processed securely via Stripe)

Content Data

• Content briefs and generated articles
• Video scripts and storyboards
• Email campaigns and sequences
• Social media posts and schedules

Analytics Data

• Search Console performance metrics
• Email campaign statistics
• Social engagement metrics
• Rank tracking history
• Content performance scores

Configuration Data

• Connected platform credentials (Shopify, WordPress, etc.)
• Brand voice settings and preferences
• Competitor lists and keywords
• Automation rules and workflows

Automatic Cleanup Schedules

ILLIXIS automatically removes certain data to optimize performance and reduce storage costs:

Data you create and save (briefs, articles, campaigns) is retained indefinitely while your account is active.

GDPR Compliance

ILLIXIS is fully GDPR compliant. Here's what that means for you:

Your Rights Under GDPR

• Right to access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data
• Right to portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Right to object: Opt out of certain data processing activities

Data Processing

• We only process data necessary to provide the service
• Third-party integrations (Google, Shopify, etc.) have their own privacy policies
• We never sell your data to advertisers or data brokers
• AI-generated content is not used to train external models

Data Location

• Primary data stored in US-based servers (Render.com)
• Backups stored in geographically distributed locations
• All data encrypted at rest and in transit

How to Request Data Export

To export all your ILLIXIS data:

1. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
2. Click Request Data Export
3. Choose export format:

• JSON (machine-readable, includes all metadata)
• CSV (spreadsheet-compatible, content only)
• HTML (human-readable archive)

4. Confirm your request via email
5. Download link sent within 24-48 hours

What's Included in Export

• All content briefs and generated articles
• Email campaigns and sequences
• Analytics history (aggregated)
• Account settings and preferences
• Connected platform configurations (credentials redacted)

What's NOT Included

• Raw API logs (technical debugging data)
• Temporary processing files
• Third-party platform data (export directly from those platforms)

How to Request Account Deletion

To permanently delete your ILLIXIS account:

1. Go to Settings > Account > Privacy
2. Click Delete Account
3. Review the deletion summary (what will be removed)
4. Enter your password to confirm
5. Click Permanently Delete Account

Deletion Timeline

• Immediate: Account access revoked
• Within 24 hours: Personal data anonymized
• Within 30 days: All content and analytics deleted
• Within 90 days: Removed from all backup systems

Before You Delete

• Export your data first (deletion is irreversible)
• Cancel any active subscriptions
• Disconnect third-party platforms
• Download any assets you want to keep

What Happens When You Cancel

When you cancel your subscription:

Immediately

• Billing stops at end of current period
• Full access continues until subscription expires

After Subscription Expires

• Account enters "read-only" mode
• You can view and export existing content
• No new content generation or publishing
• Connected platforms remain linked but inactive

After 90 Days of Inactivity

• Warning email sent with export instructions
• 30-day grace period to reactivate or export

After 120 Days of Inactivity

• Content data archived (not immediately deleted)
• Account settings preserved for potential reactivation

After 12 Months of Inactivity

• All content data permanently deleted
• Account fully removed from system
• No recovery possible

Backup and Recovery Options

Automatic Backups

• Database backed up daily
• 30-day rolling backup retention
• Point-in-time recovery available for critical issues

Self-Service Recovery

• Deleted briefs recoverable for 30 days (Trash folder)
• Deleted campaigns recoverable for 14 days
• Contact support for older recovery requests

Requesting Recovery

1. Email support@illixis.io with:

• Content type (brief, campaign, etc.)
• Approximate date of deletion
• Any identifying details (title, keywords)

2. Recovery attempted within 2 business days
3. No guarantee for data older than 30 days

Best Practices

• Export important content regularly
• Use the data export feature before major changes
• Keep local copies of critical brand assets
