Requesting Account Deletion

To delete your account:

Go to Settings > Account
Scroll to the Danger Zone section
Click Delete Account
Enter your password to confirm
Select a reason for leaving (optional)
Click Confirm Deletion

You will receive an email confirming your deletion request and the date when permanent deletion will occur.

The 30-Day Grace Period

When you request deletion, your account enters a 30-day grace period before permanent removal.

Why the grace period exists

Prevents accidental data loss from mistaken deletion requests
Allows time to export any data you need
Gives you the option to return if circumstances change
Protects against unauthorized deletion by compromised accounts

What happens during the grace period

Your account is immediately deactivated
You cannot log in or access the dashboard
Your content briefs, campaigns, and analytics are preserved but inaccessible
Connected integrations (Shopify, Klaviyo, etc.) stop syncing
Scheduled posts and email automations pause
Your subscription is cancelled and no further charges occur

Reactivating During the Grace Period

Changed your mind? You can reactivate your account within 30 days.

Go to app.illixis.io/reactivate
Enter the email address associated with your account
Click Send Reactivation Link
Check your email and click the reactivation link
Log in with your existing credentials

Upon reactivation:

All your data is restored exactly as you left it
Connected integrations resume syncing
You will need to resubscribe to resume paid features
Any scheduled content remains paused until you manually resume it

Exporting Your Data Before Deletion

Before deleting your account, export any data you want to keep:

Content and briefs

Go to Content Briefs > All Briefs
Select the briefs you want to export
Click Export > Download as PDF or Download as JSON

Analytics data

Go to Analytics > Reports
Set your desired date range
Click Export Report > CSV or PDF

Account data (GDPR export)

Go to Settings > Import & Export
Scroll to Export All Data and click Export My Data
Your data will download as a ZIP file containing all your personal data in JSON format

What Gets Deleted After the Grace Period

After 30 days, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted:

Account credentials and profile information
All content briefs, drafts, and generated content
Campaign history and performance data
Analytics and reporting data
Connected integration tokens and settings
Uploaded assets (images, videos, documents)
Email templates and automation sequences
Keyword research and competitor analysis
Usage history and activity logs

What Cannot Be Recovered

Once permanent deletion occurs:

No data can be restored under any circumstances
Our support team cannot retrieve deleted accounts
Backups containing your data are purged within 14 days of permanent deletion
Integration connections must be set up from scratch if you create a new account

GDPR Right to Erasure

ILLIXIS complies with GDPR Article 17 (Right to Erasure). You have the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time.

To exercise this right:

Use the account deletion process above, or
Email privacy@illixis.io with the subject "GDPR Erasure Request"

We will process GDPR erasure requests within 30 days as required by law. In some cases, we may retain limited data for legal compliance (such as billing records required for tax purposes), but this data is anonymized and cannot be linked back to you.

Before You Delete

Consider these alternatives:

Downgrade to free tier - Keep your data accessible without paying
Pause subscription - Some plans allow temporary pauses
Export everything - Even if you leave, your historical data may be valuable later
