What does the scan actually do?

ILLIXIS uses a real browser (Playwright) to crawl your homepage and key pages. It inspects every interactive element: buttons, forms, links, video players, chat widgets, accordions, tabs, and more. The scan takes 2-5 minutes depending on site size.

Does it work with any website?

Yes. The scanner works with any website regardless of CMS or tech stack. For Shopify and WooCommerce sites, it also adds platform-specific e-commerce events (add to cart, checkout, purchase) that are built into those platforms.

What is a CSS selector-based trigger?

Instead of requiring developers to add dataLayer.push() code to your site, ILLIXIS creates GTM triggers that fire based on CSS selectors. When a visitor clicks a button matching a specific selector, the event fires automatically. No code changes to your website needed.

Will it break my existing GTM setup?

No. Before deploying, ILLIXIS reads your existing GTM tags and triggers. It skips anything that would duplicate an existing tag. You can also review and remove any proposed event before deployment.

Can I edit the tracking plan before deploying?

Yes. The tracking plan is fully editable. Rename events, change trigger types, adjust CSS selectors, add custom events, or remove anything you don't want to track. Deploy only what you approve.

What happens when I redesign my site?

Run a re-scan. ILLIXIS compares the new scan against your existing tracking plan, identifies new interactions, flags elements that no longer exist, and merges everything cleanly. Your tracking stays current without rebuilding from scratch.
